Evaluation of Scholarly Sources.
My first scholarly source came from JSTOR. It is called Thirty Meter Telescope Site Testing I: OverviewThis article was put out to inform the public in the steps that were taken in choosing the site for the thirty meter telescope. The article goes over specific implication of why Mauna Kea is the perfect place for this telescope. It goes over the atmospherical conditions, weather, altitiude etc. It was published by The University of Chicago Press for the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. This article was found on JSTOR. The article has multiple citations from scholarly journals such as Reviews of Modern Astronomy. It also includes citations from the Journal of Climate, Advanced Technology Optical Telescopes, and multiple data experiments from a wide range of scientists. All the sources are very credible. They either come from professionally published journals or professionals themselves. This article was put together by multiple authors: M. Schöck, S. Els, R. Riddle,W. Skidmore, T. Travouillon, R. Blum, E. Bustos,G. Chanan, S. G. Djorgovski,P. Gillett,B. Gregory,J. Nelson, A. Otárola, J. Seguel, J. Vasquez, A. Walker, D. Walker, and L. Wang. All these authors have specific contributions to this article in their professions. This writing was targeted towards people who had a good understanding of telescopes and Astronomy, informing them of how they decided where to place this 30 meter telescope. The audience was mainly the astronomical society of the pacific. This audience has experience in telescopes and how they work and where they work best.

My second scholarly source is called Hawaii's Governor Proposes Telescope Swap. The purpose of this article was to inform the audience the updated situation on the controversy. The governor of Hawaii, David Ige, tries to make a settlement on destroying a quarter of the previous telescopes enabling the construction of TMT. The articles is there to inform people about the compromises the goner is trying to make with the TMT team. The article was publish by Science AAAS which is the leading scientific journal of research, global news, and commentary. The article cites most of its information from the physicist Sanil Golwala at the University of California Institute of Technology. The author of this article is Adrian Cho and Ilima loomis. Adrain Cho is a profession right for Science AAAS while Ilima Loomis is a freelance journalist from maui, Hawaii which gives her inside information about the controversy. This article is intended for her scientists and astronomers to read and understand what the progress is on the thirty meter telescope. It is towards many other astronomers around the country interested on the subject.

  1. Another good sampling, this time of scholarly sources.

The formatting in your blog entries seems a little cluttered--are there ways that you could make it more reader friendly?
