My Field of Study

People in the program of Astronomy learn how to study space. They learn all about the planets, stars, and galaxies along with how they work and operate in space. A huge part of Astronomy is learning and understanding physics as well. People who get degrees in Astronomy have many options in what they want to do. The most elite and courageous people become Astronauts, but others can work for NASA, work on telescopes, or even become a professor in Astronomy or Physics. I have always been interested in Astronomy, but last semester I took a class on the subject and my interest for the subject had sparked. I began looking into it further and realized that it was something that really intrigued me. Leaders in this field can date all the way back to Galileo and Copernicus and also Albert Einstein. However today, the most influential person in Astronomy is Neil Degrasse Tyson who starred in the Cosmos. One of the main companies in Astronomy is known as NASA. Also the University of Arizona holds the mirror lab where the biggest telescope mirrors are made.
